In the near future, during a relentless summer break and with a solar eclipse approaching, 12-year-old Bego struggles to find her place within her family and among girls her age. As the moon seems to eclipse the animals and people around her, she meets REN__, an online friend, who introduces her to "shifting" – a practice where teens believe they can enter other realities through lucid dreaming.

Biography

Lucila Mariani is a filmmaker from and based in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Her first short film, Wekwaindu (2018), was selected for the BFI Future Film Festival. Her second short film, Resonancias (Echoes, 2019), premiered at the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) and was subsequently selected for New Directors/New Films (presented by MoMA and Film at Lincoln Center) and BAFICI.

Her third short film, Luna que se quiebra sobre la tiniebla de mi soledad (Moon That Cracks Over the Darkness of My Loneliness, 2022), premiered in the Pardi di Domani International Competition at the 75th Locarno Film Festival.

Her debut feature film, Los Días Libres (The Days Off, 2026), premiered in the Concorso Cineasti del Presente competition at the Locarno Film Festival.
